2017 Rowing and Immersion Weekend Dates

April 10th, 2017

Spring is in the air! We have had some great days to row in April and May so far, and are putting out the word to all the “rusty rowers” out there to come join us.

The Knoxville Rowing Association is also gearing up now for Spring 2017 rowing lessons. The Immersion Weekend consists of an intro on rowing machines Friday evening, followed by on-water sessions Saturday and Sunday. This qualifies enrollees to participate in our regular rows with the rest of the club.

Our next Spring Immersion Weekend will be held June 16-18. We also are taking applicants for June 23-25. Click here for enrollment instructions and more information.

We look forward to meeting our new students and introducing them to the sport of rowing on our little slice of heaven called the Tennessee River!

Happy New Year!

January 1st, 2015

As the days get longer, we will be continuing our erging schedule at the Downtown YMCA on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Please come join us for those sessions, as well as scheduled rows on Saturday mornings, weather permitting. Looking forward to a great year of rowing in 2015!

Summertime rowing

June 22nd, 2014

KRA welcomes all area rowers to join us for our open rows Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 PM, and Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. This includes new rowers from our Immersion Weekends, all current and former KRA members, and anyone out there who knows how to row already. For those who are not familiar with our rowing venue, we are fortunate to have access to the most lovely part of the Tennessee River, upstream of downtown where the water is clean and calm, boat traffic is minimal, and nature abounds. Come experience it with us!

Calling all rowers

April 19th, 2014

Spring is in the air! We have had some great days to row in April so far, and are putting out the word to all the “rusty rowers” out there to come join us. We have had a great response from people wanting to learn to row in our May Immersion Weekend (May 9-11) – that session is now full. We look forward to meeting our new students and introducing them to the sport of rowing on our little slice of heaven called the Tennessee River.
